DVD production involves a number of processes from the acquisition of the footage on film or video, to editing and compression of the material before it is 'authored' and burned to DVD.

Here is a possible workflow in simple terms:

DVD duplication or DVD replication?

The term 'duplication' is often used for smaller runs usually up to 500 copies and the process differs from that of 'replication' which tends to be used for large volume runs of thousands, tens of thousands or more.

For DVD replication, a 'glass master' is created and used as the master from which to generate the replicated DVDs. This is a highly professional process with more consistent quality and cost effectiveness than duplication.

Our recommendation is to choose a company that can deliver very high quality duplication/replication runs. Compromising could result in quality control problems and compatibility issues with certain makes of DVD player.
